30Jan2014 - Treasures of a good foundation

How you doin?  I spoke to Doug Addison's assistant on the phone last night.  It's very exciting finalizing our agreement to host this conference.  We are 1 signature and a fax away.  It is not being held at my home church, but hopefully that won't affect the enjoyment of this conference or my churches participation.  I had my aunt Paula's name on my heart during our prayers.  Anyone that knows her, knows that she can be affected by worry, stress, and anxiety.  I prayed for her to receive peace, comfort, and grace this morning.  God's grace is sufficient.  The Holy Ghost's comfort is bigger then worry, stress, and anxiety.  Please pray that her dinner theater tomorrow night goes the way God intends for it to go.  Pray the she and all the cast can take refuge in Him and stay out of His way.  1 Timothy 6 today.
After reading verses 3-10, I wonder why there are so many different denominational churches out there.  It seems to me that there should only be one doctrine.  I'm thinking that the demonic spirit of religion had something to do with it.
Verses 11-16 are AWESOME!!!!!!!  Such incredible instruction.  I would be thrilled with just some of what Paul is praying for in these verses.  Verse 11-12, "But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness12 Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!  SO GOOD!!!!!!!  I say, "Ok, I'll do that".  I say "yes & amen".
Verses 17-19, "Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on Godwho richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.18 Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, 19 storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed."  I love these verses, just in case I'm ever rich.  I get the impression that Christians believe that the Bible frowns upon riches and rich people.  Here it sounds to me that it does not.  Rich people should be taught and instructed basically the same thing poor people are.  Rich and poor people should be fixing their hope on God.  Verse 19 encourages me that I may finally get that beach front mansion in "Stone Harbor" or in the dunes of "Avalon".  The difference is, I'll have mine for eternity in "Heaven".  COME ON!!!!!!!  "Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness" today.
