How you doin? I spoke to my boss yesterday and he went out of his way to make me feel welcome and needed at my job. That was helpful yesterday. The wind is ripping. There's more rain then snow which is good. We went to a worship/prayer meeting last night. It ended up centered around God's love. It was great. Just like God's love is great. Team USA plays their first hockey game today at 7:30am. I can't wait. Hebrews 2 today.
Verse 1, "For this reason we must pay much closer attention to [a]what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it." In my NIV Bible the title of this chapter is "Warning to Pay Attention". I often point out the frequency that hearing, listening, and paying attention to God is mentioned in the Old Testament. There's something to be said for paying attention to Him. Verses 3-4, "how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? [d]After it was at the first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard, 4 God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders and by various [e]miracles and by [f]gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will." WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!! God has been showing me that His salvation didn't end with acceptance of His Son. He continues to save me from captivities and lies. Hence why it's so important to stay paying attention.
Verses 14-15, "Therefore, since the children share in [m]flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives." HOLY MAC A LOLY!!!!!!! The hits just keep on coming. One of the description of Satan is that he's relentless. The constant accuser. I often refer to Satan's army as "those that lay in wait". The second I take my eyes off of Jesus, they pounce on me. Verses 16-18, "For assuredly He does not [n]give help to angels, but He gives help to the [o]descendant of Abraham. 17 Therefore, He[p]had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted." PRAISE JESUS!!!!!!! He was a man. He was a man that set the example of how to pay attention to the Father through the Holy Ghost. SO GOOD!!!!!!! I for one am going to take heed to the warning and pay attention to Him. Pay much closer attention to what you've heard from/about Jesus today.
PS I was asked a few times if I was ok last night. I am ok. God has me set aside for a moment. I feel as though He's shaping me and giving me direction. As much as I love the mountain top experience, being exposed to the glory of God, I value the valley. Nothing really grows on the mountain top. The valley is green and full of growth. I'm not sure how the valley has been twisted into lower regard then the mountain top. For me the valley is peaceful and surreal and where I can rest and grow. I dig where ever Jesus leads me. If He leads me, it's the right place to be. Thank you for your concern. I'm better then ok.
