25Jan2014 - Knowledge of Truth

How you doin?  Day 21 of our Daniel fast.  What a great experience of heightened awareness of His Presence, self control, discipline, and denial of the flesh.  I think what I learned the most is how satisfying God is.  The food that I ate over the last 3 weeks was very unsatisfying.  This fast forced me to look to the Holy Ghost for comfort.  My comfort food was that of the Spirit nature.  It's been wonderful.  With that being said, I'm really looking forward to tomorrow.  1 Timothy 2 today.
Verses 1-4, "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holinessThis is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth."  The heading of this chapter in my NIV Bible is "Instructions on Worship".  I like how this points out that pray, petition, intercession, and thanksgiving are for me as much, if not more, for the other person.  In this case "all people, kings, and those in authority".  The best part of this scripture is the part about what pleases God.  I know that God gives me the means to please Him and then rewards me for being pleasing to Him.  What a great deal.  I find myself being mindful of pleasing Him throughout my day.  So these verses are helpful in my attempt to please Him.  Ultimately, His grace, righteousness, and love in me pleases Him.  I also like the description of God's will in verse 4.  I couldn't help but to notice how this reads.  It says "come to"a" knowledge of the truth".  It doesn't say "the" knowledge.  To me this indicates the process that He has all of us in.  The knowledge of truth that I have now is nothing close to the knowledge of truth I had 3 years ago. PRAISE JESUS!!!!!!!  AWESOME!!!!!!!  I love my process.
Verse 8, "Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing."  After Paul qualifies himself as a preacher and apostle he gives these instructions.  POWERFUL!!!!!!!  I have such a heart for men within the body of Christ to step into their identity and destiny.  To partner with their wives and take the roll of spiritual leadership in their household.  To embrace their relationship with the Holy Ghost.  I pray for us men to unite in like mindedness.  To unite in like Christ mindedness.  That would make it easier, instead of figuring out who's right.  "Lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.  WOW!!!!!!!  That sounds wonderful.  That should be enough preachin for me today.  Think about being pleasing to God today.
PS   Holy jealousy.  Verses 5-6, "For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time."  If Jesus did what He did here on earth as God I would be in awe.  Since He was a man, I have holy jealousy.  He was indeed the perfect reflection of Father God, but He was a man.  Acts 10:38, "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him."  If Jesus didn't set His power and authority aside, why did God anoint Him with the Holy Spirit and power?  I believe that the demonic spirit of religion does not want us to receive this knowledge of truth.  That we too as men and women have access to this anointing, power, and Presence.  That's a good word.
