How you doin? Team USA men's hockey won big yesterday 7-1. They play Russia on Sat. at7:30am. A much bigger test. It most likely will come down to Canada, USA, and Russia. Hopefully USA bringing home the gold. I'm not much one for Valentines Day. Happy Valentines Day to those of who love it. Hebrews 3 today.
Verse 1, "Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest." AWESOME!!!!!!! This chapter is short, but loaded. Verse 6, "But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory." Jesus is faithful to me/us. SO GOOD!!!!!!!
Verses 7-19 are titled "Warning Against Unbelief". This is huge for me. Unbelief is the most troublesome thing there is to me. Not just for myself, but for everyone in the body. For the sake of time and not copying all 12 verses, please read them on your on. I will say that this is a huge warning that God has highlighted to me recently. Verses 12-14, "See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.14 We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end." These verses stood out the most. I often think about the lack of unity in denominations, doctrines, theologies, and ministries. God has also pointed out to me that Christ likeness will consequently result in unity. I'm baffled by the incredible amount of unbelief within the body of Christ. Not only will I continue to pray against it when it rears up in my life, but always for the body of Christ. I urge you again to take a long look at this chapter. Ask yourself hard questions, trusting that the Holy Ghost will correct all the wrong answers. God has brought me a long way out of "interpreting" the Scriptures to fit my unbelief. The Holy Ghost has made it known to me that it's safe to step out of the boat, into the great unknown, with Him. The Bible is Truth. If the Holy Ghost reveals the Truth to me through whatever means, I refuse to let my unbelief block me from glory. It's up to me to belief Truth. COME ON!!!!!!! Sometimes it takes a bit for my soul to catch up with my spirit. In the mean time I'm not about to, as Bill Johnson said, "Sacrifice the glory of God on the alter of human understanding". Or in this case unbelief. I've found that the demonic spirit of religion and human tradition partner with each other to stifle belief and understanding. I for one can't let that happen. My relationship with God is too valuable to me. Share in the heavenly calling, share in Christ today.
PS Stacey pointed out that sin and unbelief is a choice. Based on the fact that verse 12 starts with "See to it,". Those three words indicate a choice or a conscience effort to do or not to do something. In this case having a sinful and unbelieving heart. As usual, choice wisely.
