Paul Email -9August2013- Luke 7

How you doin? Luke is so... AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! We read chapter 7 this morning. The Holy Ghost is really illuminating Jesus' power of healing to me. The scripture this morning is loaded.

13 When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.” (Luke 7:13)  I love Jesus' compassion.
14 Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!” 15 The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. (Luke 7:14-15) 3 things stood out to me. 1) Jesus never touch the dead guy. He touched the coffin, 2) those carrying him stopped and stood still (Jesus' power stopped them dead in their tracks), 3) "Jesus gave him back to his mother" death had taken her son and Jesus gave him back to her. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

21 At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind. 22 So he replied to the messengers, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy[a] are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. 23 Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.” (Luke 7:21-23) WOW!!!! So John doubts and Jesus eases John's doubt by doing what He does. It's interesting that John doubted, but Jesus doesn't rebuke him or question his faith. Jesus just does what He came to earth to do. Jesus goes on to support and edify John in front of the people. COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dig how  "good new is proclaimed to the poor" is on the same list as "the blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised". This chapter is loaded. The first and last stories speak of outrageous faith. Every time I read these stories of faith, I feel Holy jealousy.

When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel.” 10 Then the men who had been sent returned to the house and found the servant well. (Luke 7:9-10) The centurion's faith bought healing for his servant. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!
50 Jesus said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” (Luke 7:50) YES & AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pray for faith today. Jesus has enough compassion for the world and everyone in it. COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Life is good, God is better!
