Paul Email -14August2013- Luke 11 (How to Pray)

How you doin? Please be praying for us as the kids (especially Paulie) are grow into a new stage and there are necessary adjustments in our conduct with him. We're praying for instructions and direction from the Holy Ghost. After all, we share the greatest Father of all with the kids. There's something to be learned from watching Him. COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!! That's a tremendous segue into today's scripture, Luke 11. Luke's report tells the disciples what to pray, but the verses immediately following tells how to pray and what's to be gained by praying that way.

Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread;
 a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.
So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
11 “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (Luke 11:5-13)
AWESOME!!!!!!! My NIV Bible has verse 8 like this, "I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man's boldness (persistence) he will get up and give him as much as he needs." Boldness comes from authority.  Authority is given to us by Jesus. Jesus prays to the Father for us. DIG IT!!!!!!! This set of scripture explains the attitude, authority and believe we should be praying in. God's not into behavior modification. He just wants to be our Father. He wants to protect us, shower us with favor & blessings & things of Him & His Kingdom. He wants to love us. SAY WORD!!!!!!!!!! (that's for you T.J.) We make this relationship harder then it needs to be. Pray BOLD today and believe.
