Paul Email -26August2013- Luke 18 (Religious Leaders Response)

How you doin? What an amazing message yesterday at church. Spike knocked it out of the park. We also had an AWESOME!!!!!!! prayer tunnel. DIG IT!!!!!!! I'm very tired today. My lack of sleep has caught up to me. Luke 20 this morning. This chapter starts with the religious leaders questioning Jesus' authority and ends with Jesus warning the disciple against the religious leaders. I noticed the religious leaders responses the most today.

But if we say, ‘Of human origin,’ all the people will stone us, because they are persuaded that John was a prophet.” (Luke 20:6)

The teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way to arrest him immediately, because they knew he had spoken this parable against them. But they were afraid of the people. (Luke 20:19)
They were unable to trap him in what he had said there in public. And astonished by his answer, they became silent. (Luke 20:26)
39 Some of the teachers of the law responded, “Well said, teacher!” 40 And no one dared to ask him any more questions. (Luke 20:39-40)
All of these responses show fear of man and submission to Jesus' authority. The religious leaders are trying to trick Jesus into saying something wrong. They are questioning His authority. While reading this morning, the Holy Ghost brought to my mind the instruction that Jesus gives us about fear.
“I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. (Luke 12:4-5)
26 So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. 27 What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. 28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:26-28)
These are some of many verses on fear. I read these and think, "Ok, I got it". It's easier said then done. We have help.

26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (John 14:26-27)

I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers them.
(Psalm
34:4,7)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.Do not be wise in your own eyes;
    fear the Lord and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body
    and nourishment to your bones.
(Proverbs 3:5-8)

COME ON!!!!!!! Again, Jesus' authority and great love for us and our Father in Heaven, offers us instructions that make it possible for us to fear the right person. What a great deal. I received a 80's rock prophetic word this morning... "Don't fear the reaper". This may still sound easier said then done. There's more.

Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. (Matthew 10:1)

When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. (Luke 9:1-2)
According to Webster's dictionary, a disciple is, "one who accepts and assists in spreading the doctrines of another: as
a : one of the twelve in the inner circle of Christ's followers according to the Gospel accounts
b : a convinced adherent of a school or individual." According to the dictionary in my Bible, disciple means, "follower of some doctrine or teacher". By definition we are disciples. The same authority given to the 12 and the 72 is the same authority given to us. COME ON!!!!!!! I hope you are jumping up and down right know. If not, tell me so I can call 911. DIG IT!!!!!!! Fear the right person today.
