How you doin? Luke 22 is thick. My journal entree sounded like it was
written by insanity. I was overwhelmed by the depth of Luke 22. I will
try to spare you the agony of my insanity for Jesus. Stacey wasn't so
lucky. I am in love with a man... Jesus.
31 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
33 But he replied, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death.”
34 Jesus answered, “I tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me.” (Luke 22:31-34)
So Jesus gives Peter some present future. In a time of darkness, "But this is your hour—when darkness reigns.” (Luke 22:53),
Jesus let's Peter know that Satan will be after him. Jesus also tells
him that He will pray on his behave. DIG IT!!!!!!! So, the prophecy is
that Peter will fail, but he repents to become the rock the church is
built on. COME ON!!!!!!! Of course Peter thinks he's got it going on,
verse 33.
The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.” 62 And he went outside and wept bitterly. (Luke 22:61-62) So, Satan gets after Peter and "The
Lord turned and looked straight at Peter". I can imagine the awakening
Peter had at that moment. I would have "wept bitterly" as well. We know
how Peter turns out. He worked through his salvation to become a
prominent figure in the body of Christ. He's one of my favorites,
because he messes up more then anybody and yet he was so full of the
Holy Ghost that his shadow heal people. AWESOME!!!!!!! This indicates
hope for me. The Biblical kind. Look for the Lord looking straight at
you today.
