How you doin?
WOW!!!!!!! Acts 3 is AWESOME!!!!!!! Right to it today. The bottom of my
Bible says that "In the name of Jesus Christ" means "By the authority of
Jesus Christ". Keep this in mind.
I love the
authority that Peter possesses. In verses 4-5, he demonstrates crazy
power and authority. Peter says "Look at us" to the crippled man. The
crippled man's response may have been for bad motives, but he was "expecting to get something from them."
Verse 6 is great. Peter heals this man by giving him what he had (the
authority of Jesus). Peter had the power of the Holy Ghost. Peter didn't
pray for this man to be healed, but he commanded him to walk... (v. 6) “Silver
or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of
Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” COME ON!!!!!!! Verse 7 shows us the
action or movement that activates or triggers the miracle (v. 7)... "Taking
him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet
and ankles became strong." Faith moves us before it moves Jesus. SAY
WORD!!!!!!! The crippled man goes on to praise God and to celebrate his
healing. That's a good word.
Verses
13-16 are the next set of verses that got me this morning. Peter
reminds the people of how they killed and disowned Jesus. Then in verse
16 he hits deep, "By faith in the name of Jesus,
this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and
the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you
can all see." DIG IT!!!!!!! In verse 6 Peter says "In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth". No prayer, just power. COME ON!!!!!!!
There's more out pouring then I thought. Verse 19 is worth looking at. "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord" (3:19) Times of refreshing. I need that a few times a day. OH SNAP!!!!!!! Verse 25 "And you are heirs
of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers." SO
GOOD!!!!!!! As so often happens, the last verse of the chapter is the
knock out punch v.26... "When God raised up his servant, he
sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your
wicked ways.” I'll take that. COME ON!!!!!!! In AA we that God does for
me what I can't do for myself. I need God to turn me from wicked ways.
They come WAY to easily. I love the fact that everything Jesus did is so
that i can be right with God. That He is in me and I am in Him. Verse
22 tells us, "you must listen to everything he tells you." That's a good word! I'm keeping that one with me today.
