Paul Email -24Oct2013- Acts 25 Perseverance

How you doin? This needs to be short today on account of my breakfast cook calling out. I'll be at work nice and early today. Acts 25 today.
Paul's life seems to have been spent in trial and persecution. Prior to his encounter his Jesus, he was in trials against followers of Jesus. He was the accuser. After Jesus knocked him on his butt, literally, he became the accused. As we read in Acts 25 yet another series of trials, I heard the truth of God not being penetrated or deferred. I can't help but to think that it would have been considerably easier for these Roman officials just to hand Paul over to the Jews. Paul must of had some kind of anointing on him. The Jews had some kind of influence on them. Verse 18-19 say it best, "When his accusers got up to speak, they did not charge him with any of the crimes I had expected. 19 Instead, they had some points of dispute with him about their own religion and about a dead man named Jesus who Paul claimed was alive." The Jews had dispute with Paul "about their own religion". Nothing really to do with Spirituality. Everything to do with religion. I like Festus' response in verse 20, "I was at a loss how to investigate such matters; so I asked if he would be willing to go to Jerusalem and stand trial there on these charges." Festus had no clue how to investigate matters of religion and Spirituality. Praise God that we do.

My over view of this chapter is the Jews demonic influence and Paul's tremendous perseverance through ridiculous trials of truth. Paul stood his ground and stood on the truth that he believed beyond a shadow of a doubt. That's a good word. I believe my trials are way more discreet and slightly less invasive. I mean slightly. Discreet trials aren't weak trials. Paul seems to stay so fixed on the truth. I'm trying to keep my eyes on the One who has victory in this war. I love the thought "Spiritual warfare is the only type of war where you don't look at your opponent". In order to follow someone or something you must be able to see them. Keep your eyes on the Winner today.
