Paul Email -6July2013- Matthew 25

How you doin? It's been a long couple of days at work. Summer is here... finally. I feel fairly distracted from the most important thing to me... God. I'm praying for God to turn my eyes upon Him. He is the solution for everything. Nothing like some extreme scripture to help out. This morning we read Matthew 25. WOW!!!!!!

“‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’
“But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.

“Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’

“But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’

Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour. (Matt. 25:9-13) This parable supports what was said in chapter 24, "keep watch". I also thought that the oil symbolizes the Holy Ghost. When the 5 bridesmaids went out to oil from a merchant, they were shut out. If we try to get what God offers from someone or something else, it doesn't go well.
For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ (Matt. 25:29-30) This parable speaks of money, but I believe this speaks of stewardship of more then money. I believe it's speaking of anything God gives us. Mostly His Presence. COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. (Matt. 25:31-33)
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. (Matt. 25:34) COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matt. 25:40) The 2nd greatest commandment, love your neighbor. Hard scripture for me. Help me Jesus.
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. (Matt. 25:41) OUCH! This is very scary scripture. I can clearly see the choice we have in these verses. These verses make me cling to God as though it's a matter of life or death (pun intended).
“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” (Matt. 25:46) Jesus makes our choice very clear. WOW!!! Sheep or goats. I choose to be a sheep. I hope everyone takes time to read all of Matthew 25. These verses have way more impact in contents. Choose wisely today and praise God we have choices. COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
