How you doin?
Revelation 5 today. What a great chapter to read with Easter just 2.5
weeks away. This chapter is probably worth reading everyday until
Easter comes. It really pants a great picture of what Jesus did for
us. It really tells us about our identity and why it's our identity.
Verses 4-5, "Then I began to weep greatly because no one was found worthy to open the [e]book or to look into it; 5 and one of the elders *said to me, “Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the [f]book and its seven seals.”'
AWESOME!!!!!!! Jesus is the Lion and Lamb. He's everything. The most
powerful thing He ever did was being crucified/slain.
Verses 8-10, "When He had taken the [h]book,
the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before
the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense,
which are the prayers of the [i]saints. 9 And they *sang a new song, saying,
“Worthy are You to take the [j]book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.10 “You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.”' These verses are the verses that helped me start to understand my identity 3 years ago. It's very clear language to me. We were purchased by the blood of the Lamb to be a kingdom, priest, and to reign upon the earth. COME ON!!!!!!!
Verse 11-14, describe the most beautiful worship session ever. I love verse 14, "And the four living creatures kept saying, “Amen.” And the elders fell down and worshiped." According to Wesbter's dictionary, Amen means, "used to express agreement or approval; used to express solemn ratification (as of an expression of faith) or hearty approval (as of an assertion). Stacey has convinced me that the 4 living creatures represent us in heaven. I love the simplicity of our worship in heaven... "solemn ratification, agreement, hearty approval". WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!! Say "Amen" to the fact that you've been purchased by the blood of the Lamb to be a kingdom, priest, and to reign on this earth today. "AMEN"
