31Mar2014 - New Names

How you doin?  Stacey and I went to see/hear Leon Van Rooyen last night at New Life Church on Tilton Rd.  I couldn't imagine God doing any more in my day yesterday until I sat there during Leon's message completely wrecked.  I mean UNDONE.  The Holy Ghost just poured heavenly things into me in a messy way.  SO GOOD!!!!!!!  I love trusting God.  Stacey and I had no clue who this dude was and we had never been to this church.  We were invited by people we trust and we went knowing that we live in God's refuge.  WOW!!!!!!!  God totally poured grace, favor, and blessing on us through that faith... that He supplies.  What a great deal.  The Holy Ghost woke me up at 3:30am.  I did ask Him if He was serious.  He said yes He was very serious.  So I laid in bed for 30min praying that He wasn't serious, no I'm kidding.  I did pray "Ok, you got me up, what's going on".  He said, "Your name".  This started yesterday morning with Revelation 2:17, "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.’" WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!  It's killing me again today.  First off, I so pray for manna to appear in my hand or Bible or somewhere.  I'm jealous when I hear testimonies about manna appearing.  It's one of those many signs that make you wonder.  Second and most importantly the white stone.  Third the new name.
I did a "little" research.  Two plus hours later, I may know less then I did before.  I refer to these mornings as "can of worms" mornings.  I won't burden you with what I want/need to know about.  I will say it's very interesting to look at what manna and  the white stone represent in the Bible.  Last night, Leon opened his message on transformation with "new names" in the Bible.  Perhaps a coincidence, I would say not.  How God and Jesus renames people to indicate their transformation.  So then I'm thinking about how many characters in the Bible had their name changed.

Name          Change       To/From      By Whom
Abraham originally Abram God
Abram renamed Abraham God
Ammi originally Lo-Ammi God
Israel originally Jacob God
Jacob renamed Israel God
Jedediah also known as Solomon God
Lo-Ammi renamed Ammi God
Lo-Ruhamah renamed Ruhamah God
Ruhamah originally Lo-Ruhamah God
Sarah originally Sarai God
Sarai renamed Sarah God
Solomon also known as Jedediah God

Saul            also known as Paul             Hebrew/Latin

Peter           originally        Simon          Jesus
Simon renamed        Peter          Jesus

This is just some of them.  I thought these ones would emphasis the point that the Holy Ghost was making to me yesterday morning and last night.  Name changes indicate transformation, becoming new.  There are also several Biblical transformations that take place without name change, so I'm not talking about the name change, I'm talking about the transformation.  The name change to me is symbolic of transformation.  Last night Leon was talking about how transformation in the church, city, state, world, etc., starts with transformation of yourself.  He used Jacobs story to illustrate how God will give favor to someone who isn't satisfied with anything less then the full inheritance of the Kingdom.  COME ON!!!!!!!  How God has favor for people who answer the call of their heavenly identity and destiny.  People who know that God's creation isn't distorted or messed up, but there is a spirit of deception and lies in the world and sadly enough in the church.  This could go on for hours, because it does for me.  I'll spare you all that goes on in my head and more importantly my heart.  God is really changing me and I love it.  I love Him.  Be transformed into His likeness today.

PS   I invite you to come out tonight to see/hear Leon.  The worship team of this church only is worth coming out for.  If you need/want more information, you know how to reach me.  he's there tomorrow as well.  I hope to see you there.

I forgot my PPS.  The flip side to Jacob/Israel is Esau.  Esau despised his birth right.  He traded in his Kingdom inheritance for worldly deception/lies.  I never want to be this person.  Someone who straight out says no to God and despises their birth right.  Sadly enough there are plenty of people in are churches regular attendance and leadership that are more like Esau then Jacob.  If you see me acting in this way, please call me out for it.  I can't stomach the thought of slapping God in the face in this way.
