An Update from Stacey: Living the Dream

It has been a while since I have given an official update so here goes:

For starters, one of my proudest moments so far in homeschooling.  I have been doing typing classes with the kids the last few weeks.  I ask them who they want to write to and what they want to say and they get a kick out of it.  While I am doing the typing class with one of them, the other one does lessons on ABCMouse.com.  So I am doing Paulie's lesson and Audrey is clicking away on the other side of the table.  As I finish with Paulie, she says, "Mom look at this."  And she tells me "I added balloons and my name on my birthday March 10th."  (She had pulled up the calendar in the computer program by herself).  Then she clicked on the 9th (which is when she is having a few friends over for her birthday party) and she asked me if I thought she should put a present or a cake there and asked me how to spell "party".  Then she found May and put balloons and typed "Paulie" on May 3rd.  All of this by herself!  I was so proud!  :)

The kids have also been learning proper knife skills and cooking.  They use our real global knives and they are learning how to chop.  So far we have made Cheddar Broccoli Soup and Cream of Asparagus Soup in cooking class.  (They are already very good bakers.  We make together whole wheat honey organic bread and banana bread and pancakes.  They can measure properly, level scoops of things, use the microwave, etc.  And their favorite to make is homemade organic pizza!)

One of their favorite things to do is read.  I check out about 20 books a week from the library that we read together.  They love to go to story time at the library too and I can tell that Ms. Andrea who runs the story time likes Paulie and Audrey the best!  Haha.

I am realizing that I have way too much to report and I don't want you to lose interest so 2 more things.  Audrey lost her 4th tooth a bit ago.  She worked on this one for a few months it seemed like but it finally came out!

The weather has been way up and down here lately.  I don't remember it ever being as cold as it is some days (like 9 degrees outside) and then 2 days later it will be in the 50s!  So one day we are playing in the snow and the next we are riding our bikes with jackets.  Really weird but we just roll with it!  :)

They went roller skating for the first time, we visited my sister and her family, the kids are majorly helpful around the house... so much going on and it is all GREAT!  When people ask me how I am I can truthfully tell them that we are Living The Dream.  God is soooo good!  (And thank you for all your prayers, Paul is finally back to work this week after 3 months.  Talk about an exercise in trusting God and as you all know: God is faithful and performed miracles in our lives during this time.)

We Love you all and pray that you are all well and happy!  Stacey  (Closing picture was one of the most amazing events:  Paul and I hosted our first conference at the church Jonathan and Karen Welton.  It was so amazing the testimonies of how God moved keep on coming in!)
