6Mar2014 - Like New Born Babies

How you doin?  So the home and home match up with the Capitals lived up to my expectation and then some.  Stacey and I had a great time last night watching the Flyers beat the Capitals 6-4.  Stacey's very funny.  She says things like, "I don't like it when they say "icing" because it reminds me of cake".  I like it when she says, "I know the Flyers are going to win", a minute into the game.  She's very prophetic.  A great time out for us as a couple.  I'm way exhausted.  Transitioning back to work plus being out until 12:30am last night.  We have very exciting things going on with our ministry team, local conferences, SOZO, and Audrey's 6th birthday.  This month couldn't be any more packed with events.  1 Peter 2 today.
Verses 1-2, "Therefore, putting aside all [a]malice and all deceit and [b]hypocrisy and [c]envy and all [d]slander, like newborn babies, long for the [e]pure [f]milk of the word, so that by it you may grow [g]in respect to salvation, if you have tasted [h]the kindness of the Lord."  I've said 100 times that the most important prayer I've ever prayed, and still continue to pray, is for God to increase my desire to know Him and love Him.  I believe Psalm 14:2.  God is looking for people who seek Him and understand Him.  AWESOME!!!!!!!
Verses 9-10, "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy."  WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!  These verses should be put in your pocket for when Satan tries to steal your identity.  It's good to be a possession of God's.  I love being in His "marvelous light".  SO GOOD!!!!!!!
In the NASB, verses 21-25 are titled "Christ Is Our Example".  In order for us to believe these verses we most realize that Jesus was a man like us in every way.  We must also be living completely in the new covenant.  Never the less here they are.  Verses 21-25, "For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, 22 who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; 23 [w]and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 and He Himself [x]bore our sins in His body on the [y]cross, so that we might die to [z]sin and live to righteousness; for by His [aa]wounds you were healed. 25 For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and [ab]Guardian of your souls." HOLY MAC A LOLY!!!!!!!  I myself am just letting that resonate in me today.  These verses bring so many other verses to mind.  Too much to write about.  God is AWESOME!!!!!!!  Be in "His marvelous light" today.

PS  Measuring myself up against verses 16-17 is tough.  I will be praying for this to be a reality.  As usual, I'm not doing this chapter any justice.  Please read it on your own today.
