Paul Email -2Sept2013- Identity Crisis or Identity Theft

How you doin? What a great 9am worship service yesterday. I can't wait to hear the testimonies. I can really see a change in the response to the Holy Ghost from our congregation. RAD!!!!!!! John 2 this morning. I now love the story of Jesus' 1st miracle. The Holy Ghost granted me understanding of this prophetic act for a message I gave on this past Father's Day. I'll attach my notes for those who are interested in reading it.

His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.” (John 2:17)

This verse got me today. I feel zeal for our church. Not just for the building, but the body of Christ. God has a work in us and it's fun to watch. I once heard that God is the most entertaining thing ever. I see what that girl was saying now.

The thought I wanted to share today is on Identity. I'm sure you are surprised.

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” (Genesis 1:26)

A few days ago the Holy Ghost laid one on me. He said, "Identity crisis or identity theft". I can remember going to college for psychology and learning about identity crisis, existential crisis, and self actualization. Those are terms to help people understand why they exist. I loved this part of psychology. That was over 20yrs ago for me. Now the thing I hear about most is identity theft. There seems to have been a shift from "finding yourself" to "protecting yourself". I believe this verse in Genesis. We are created in God's image and for His pleasure. That's why he gave us dominion over the earth. He dig's us and He's in us. I'm not very in tune with psychology these days or with the society. I do hear enough to know that identity theft is a huge problem. I do feel more in tune with God then I ever thought possible. The Holy Ghost has shown me that the works of the Devil are a direct opposite of the works of God. Bill Johnson said, "If your having trouble seeing what God is doing... look at what the Devil is doing". So if there is an identity theft crisis now in our world, it's because God is promoting identity in Him. I believe that God wants us to know you we are in Him and who He is in us. SAY WORD!!!!!!! I remember praying a life changing prayer... "Father God, please show me how you see me". POWERFUL!!!!!!! Since I've become a parent, I marvel over the characteristics of mine that I see in Audrey and Paulie. It's no different for Father God. By learning the character and nature of our Heavenly Father, we can protect ourselves from identity theft. We've been given authority over the things of this world. So what ever doesn't line up with God's image, character, and nature is an attempt at stealing our identity. I for one am not having it. Having my natural identity stolen will be a hassle and an inconvenience, but having my Spiritual identity stolen is life threatening. I can't thank God enough for His protection. I know who I am. When Satan sneaks a flaming arrow through my armor, I have the sword of truth (the Word) to dig it out. COME ON!!!!!!! Ask God a tough question today... "how do you see me/who am I".
