How you doin? I must be brief today in the interest of time. I need to be at work early today. 1 Corinthians 2 today.
The first 5 verses tells of how Paul came in soft so that people would know his message was from God. Verses 4-5, "My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power." That's a good word.
There's a heading in my Bible above verse 6, "Wisdom From the Spirit". That's a luring heading. Verses 6-7, "We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began." "Destined for our glory".That's our "splendor and majestic beauty" that's obtained through the Holy Ghost in us. Jesus' death, resurrection, and ascension was the secret for our redemption. COME ON!!!!!!! Verse 8 make me think that the rulers mentioned here are both rulers in the nature (man) and their spiritual rulers (devils). "None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory." Hind sight is always 20/20. Satan wouldn't have assisted in the redemption of the world had he known he was. Verses 9-10 take the cake, "However, as it is written:
Verses 11-12, "For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us." COME ON!!!!!!! This is quite a promise. A promise I want to receive. A truth I want to believe. Verse 14, "The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit." The mature and the immature. Believers and nonbelievers. We are to speak to them differently. I have a heart for the believer who hasn't received the fullness of Christ in them. The immature believer. Including myself. The folks that sit in our church services that don't realize that they have not been given the "spirit of the world", but the "Spirit who is from God". Including myself. It's part of my continual prayer, "Lord give me eyes to see, ears to hear, and a receptive heart". That's a good word. Have the Spirit from God today.
“What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”—
the things God has prepared for those who love him—
10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God." They were veiled because God was protecting His plan. AWESOME!!!!!!! He protects His plan for us as well. God hides things for us... not from us. Every verse in this chapter is worthy of writing in this email.what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”—
