How you doin? This
email may seem like a "bunny trail", but it's testimonial. Each time I
experience breakthrough, I think of 2 Corinthians 4:7-12, which speaks
of the internal battle of spirit and soul. My soul is being put in
submission by my spirit which is attached to the Spirit. As I deal with
the death of my flesh, which is a consequence of Jesus' acts on the
cross, it can be painful. 2 Corinthians 4:8-11, "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10 We
always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of
Jesus may also be revealed in our body." I know that by persevering
through these times glory comes to my Father in Heaven. COME ON!!!!!!!
Here
comes the "bunny trail". It may seem like I'm all over the place this
morning and that might be the case. You know how much I value Bill
Johnson's and Bethel Church's ministry. I was watching a sermon by Bill
last Thursday that was, as usual, full of bombs. Here are 2 of them- 1)
"Jesus re-inherited everything and said He gives it to me. Every time He
speaks, He deposits resources of heaven". 2) "When me and you gave up
everything to follow Jesus, we didn't give up much". Bill went on to
list the things we gave up, like captivity, bondage, fear, sin, ...etc.
Jesus gave up "everything" for us. Jesus gave up "everything" only to
re-inherit it and offer it to me/us. HOLY MAC A LOLY!!!!!!! What a
thought. What a gift.
Again with the all over the place. Psalm 111 hit me like a ton of bricks today. It's only 10 verses, but it made me shake.
"Praise the Lord.
PS Instead of New Year resolution, try New Year revelation.
"Praise the Lord.
I will extol the Lord with all my heart
in the council of the upright and in the assembly.
in the council of the upright and in the assembly.
2 Great are the works of the Lord;
they are pondered by all who delight in them.
3 Glorious and majestic are his deeds,
and his righteousness endures forever.
4 He has caused his wonders to be remembered;
the Lord is gracious and compassionate.
5 He provides food for those who fear him;
he remembers his covenant forever.

6 He has shown his people the power of his works,
giving them the lands of other nations.
7 The works of his hands are faithful and just;
all his precepts are trustworthy.
8 They are established for ever and ever,
enacted in faithfulness and uprightness.
9 He provided redemption for his people;
he ordained his covenant forever—
holy and awesome is his name.

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all who follow his precepts have good understanding.
To him belongs eternal praise."
WOW!!!!!!! What an incredible description of God's character and nature. It also gives me a thought of what my response should be to Him, verses 2 & 10. I feel overwhelmed with love for Jesus. I feel stretched and changed. I feel undone. The New Year will tend to cause reflection. I hope that your reflection of this past year brings joy in the Lord instead of sorrow in the world. Delight in and ponder the great works of the Lord today.
